Ridgefield Recycling Center is the town’s recycling drop-off on Pleasant View Terrace where residents and small haulers swing by to unload sorted materials. Neighbors, landscapers and folks doing spring cleanouts tend to use it most, especially on weekends and late afternoons.
Pull up to the entrance booth and be ready to tell them what’s in the load; there’s a scale nearby and many recycling centers in the state charge by weight, so expect to stop there on the way out. The site is pretty compact - a handful of large bins and a few covered bays rather than a sprawling complex - and the recycling bins are off to the right just past the booth. It gets busy on Saturdays and during seasonal cleanups, with a line of cars idling toward the road, so allow extra time. Look for signs over each bay indicating common materials like cardboard, mixed recyclables, and metal, and there are usually separate areas for bulk items and electronics on the same site.
