(908) 782-1695Raritan Public Works Recycling is the small municipal recycling center out on Pennsylvania Avenue that locals use for household drop-offs and curbside overflow. Neighbors swing by with bags and boxes, especially when doing a big cleanout or clearing out recyclables from the garage.
The site feels like a town-run operation - a single entrance with a little booth and a couple of lanes to pull up. Scales and a weigh station are visible near the entrance, and the recycling containers sit to the right past the booth. Expect lots of paper, cardboard, glass, metal and common plastics at centers like this, and some special programs (electronics or bulk pickups) are often handled at municipal sites. Weekends and spring cleanup times get busy, so there can be a line of cars waiting to pull in.
