Yerington Transfer Station

16 Us Highway 95A N, Yerington, NV 89447

(775) 463-2290

A small-town transfer station where local residents drop off household junk and smaller loads that get compacted and hauled out to a landfill. Located just off US-95A in Yerington, it’s the place folks use when driving all the way to a distant landfill isn’t practical. The site mainly handles vehicle-delivered loads rather than commercial roll-offs.

There’s a single entrance with an attendant booth and a scale nearby, so plan for a short stop to be directed where to pull up. Vehicles usually drive up to a tipping area or compactor pad; expect to unload near a concrete bay or open pit rather than a neat row of bins. Recycling or specific drop-off containers are often clustered to one side past the main traffic flow. Lines build on weekends and during seasonal cleanups, so waits are common at busy times.

Before You Go

  • Secure loose items and tarp loads before getting out of the truck-wind and passing traffic can make things messy.
  • Have the vehicle positioned so heavy items can be offloaded without dragging them across pavement; a helper or dolly speeds things up.
  • Wear sturdy shoes and gloves; the ground can be uneven and there’s often broken glass or metal around the drop areas.
