Waste Management Commercial Row Transfer Station

1392 E Commercial Row, Reno, NV 89512

(775) 329-8822

A working transfer station on Commercial Row where residential drivers drop off loads that get compacted and hauled out to a landfill. Locals use it when hauling a pickup load or cleaning out a garage to avoid the longer drive to a landfill out of town. It's the kind of place that gets busier on weekends and during seasonal cleanups.

Drive toward the small entrance booth and be prepared to pull through a short lane; there’s a scale and you usually stop twice, once in and once leaving. The yard is mostly concrete bays and a big compactor area with piles of mixed material - not a tidy recycling center, more of a working lot. Recycling bins tend to be to the side of the main drop-off area, and larger trucks move through slowly so watch for blind spots. Lines can stack up on spring cleanup weekends, so expect some wait time if arriving midday or Saturday.

Before You Go

  • Secure loose items and cover loads so nothing blows out while waiting in line or when driving through the yard.
  • Have materials sorted by type before getting to the booth so unloading goes faster at the bays.
  • Avoid peak weekend hours if possible; arriving early on a weekday or late afternoon often cuts wait time.
