Mesquite Sanitary Landfill is the town landfill out on Mesquite Heights Road where household junk and larger loads end up. Neighbors use it for yard cleanups, old furniture, and bigger jobs that won’t fit in regular pickup. Contractors and haulers show up here too when they need a place to bury mixed loads.
There’s a scale - plan on stopping to be weighed so tipping fees are charged by weight rather than by load. Pull up to the entrance booth and then follow the traffic flow to the active tipping area; after dumping, vehicles usually return to the scale for an exit reading. The site is big and open with dirt ramps and visible mounds where material is being buried, and you’ll see heavy equipment working the cells. Often there are separate drop spots nearby for bulky items or recyclables, but those locations can be set off to the side of the main dumping area.
