800-963-4776Lockwood Regional Landfill (Refuse, Inc.) is the big burial site on East Mustang Road that handles household and commercial trash for the Sparks area. Neighbors and small haulers use it when regular pickup won’t do, and it operates like a typical regional landfill with large tipping areas and scale-based fees.
Drive up to an entrance booth and then over a scale-this type of place charges by weight, so expect to stop on the way in and again on the way out. The site is open, dusty and dominated by mounded cells and heavy equipment; bring a mask on windy days. Pull up to the tipping area where larger trucks back in to dump and smaller loads can tip and leave; commercial loads are accepted here. Lines can build up on weekends and during spring cleanup, so plan for a short wait or slow-moving traffic inside the gate.
