Battle Mountain Sanitary Landfill is the town dump off NV-305, used by local residents and businesses who need a place to tip their trash. Smaller and more utilitarian than the big regional sites, it’s where loads end up when pickup bins or haulers can’t take them any further.
Pull in from NV-305 and slow down for a gravel drive leading to an entrance booth and a large scale; most landfills in this region charge tipping fees by weight and commercial loads are handled differently than residential ones. The site looks industrial-wide open dirt areas, heavy trucks, and earth-moving equipment; expect dust on dry, windy days. Drivers are directed to a dumping cell and then go back over the scale on the way out, so plan for a short stop at both ends.
