Valentine Area Solid Waste Agency MSW Landfill is the town’s landfill out on Hwy 20, the spot folks use when trash won’t fit in the curbside can. Locals and commercial haulers both bring loads here; it’s a working landfill where material is buried rather than processed for reuse.
Drive up to a gate and a weigh scale; tipping fees are normally based on weight, so vehicles usually get weighed on the way in and again on the way out. There’s typically a small booth or attendant area by the entrance and then a set of bins or drop areas a short drive past that. The active dumping area is outdoors and can be dusty or muddy depending on weather, with equipment and piles visible from the access road. Weekends and spring clean-up periods tend to be the busiest, so expect some wait time at peak moments.
