Small regional landfill about 10 miles north of Chadron on Hwy 385, run by the Solid Waste Agency of Northwest Nebraska. Locals, ranchers and contractors use it when stuff needs to be buried rather than recycled. The road in is obvious from the highway and there’s an entrance booth/scale to stop at.
Pull up to a scalehouse/booth to get weighed-this place uses tipping fees based on weight rather than a flat per-item charge. After weighing in, drivers head to the active tipping pad where you’ll see piles of compacted trash and big equipment moving around. The site is open and mostly gravel; expect heavy trucks, dirt, and a short drive from the highway to the tipping area. Busy weekends and spring cleanup times can mean a line at the booth.
