Richland County Landfill is the county dump out on Highway 16 near Sidney, where household and larger loads are buried. Locals, farm trucks and commercial haulers all use it for final disposal. The site looks like a working landfill - big dirt piles, heavy equipment and an open tipping area.
Expect a scale and a small entrance booth area where loads are noted and fees are figured; many landfills charge by weight so plan to stop on the way out too. After that, traffic is directed to the tipping face or to any recycling/drop-off spots that might be available. The ground is often gravel and can get dusty or muddy depending on the weather, with trucks lining up to back in and dump. Weekends and spring cleanup times are busiest, so waits are common then.
