(417) 851-1929Springfield Transfer Station is the local transfer station on E Ash that people from around Springfield use when the landfill is too far to drive. Neighbors drop off household loads and small truck or trailer loads here so the trash can be compacted and moved out by big trucks.
Drive up to a single entrance with a small booth where vehicles line up; expect to cross a scale so the load can be measured before leaving. The site has large concrete bays and compacting equipment visible from the drive area, with recycling bins usually set off to one side. Pull forward as directed by signage or attendants and unload into the proper bay before moving back to the scale to finish. Weekends and spring cleanup days often have longer lines and a bit more hustle and noise from trucks and compactors.
