(417) 742-3536Springfield Noble Hill Sanitary Landfill is the large county landfill just off W Farm Rd 34 that locals and small haulers use when trash needs to be buried rather than recycled. It handles typical municipal and commercial loads and functions as the endpoint for material that can't be dropped at convenience centers. Expect a big open site with rows of compacted cells and heavy equipment working the piles.
Drive up to an entrance booth and be prepared to pull onto a scale - tipping is handled by weight so vehicles stop twice if weighed in and out. Traffic lanes are wide to accommodate trucks and trailers; commercial rigs are common and the site feels industrial rather than tidy. After the booth, there’s usually a short drive to the active cell or unloading pad where loads are tipped and spread by dozers. Leave room for dust and mud in wet weather and watch for large equipment moving slowly around the site.
