Black Oak Landfill is the big county dump out on Highway HH near Hartville. It’s where local trash gets buried, and both neighborhood folks and commercial haulers drop loads here. Expect a working site with heavy equipment and large dirt cells rather than anything fancy.
Drive up to a small entrance booth and a scale-landfills like this charge tipping fees by weight, so there’s usually a weigh-in (and often another weigh-out). After the scale, drivers are directed to the active dumping area where bulldozers and compactors are moving material. The site is open, dusty in dry weather and muddy after rain, and long trucks fit but some turns and ramps can be tight. Weekends, especially spring cleanup times, tend to be the busiest.
