(866) 909-4458Waste Management - Oak Grove Landfill is the big county/region-style landfill near Hattiesburg that handles final disposal of trash. Neighbors and businesses drop off household junk and commercial loads here; it's the kind of place where loads get buried rather than recycled or processed further.
Drive up Gravel Pit Road to a clearly visible entrance with a small booth and a scale - trucks get weighed so tipping fees are based on weight. The site is large, with packed dirt roads, piles of cover dirt and cells in various stages; expect to be directed to a tipping pad or working face when it’s your turn. There’s usually a short wait during busy times, and larger commercial rigs will use the scale and routing lanes designed for heavy vehicles. After dumping, vehicles go back over the scale to record out weight and complete the transaction.
