Little Dixie Landfill on N County Line Road is the spot folks in Ridgeland use when the pickup bed or trailer is too full for a curb pickup. Contractors, landscapers and homeowners with big cleanups all show up here; it’s the final place trash gets buried. The yard looks like a working dirt site rather than a neat transfer station.
There’s a small entrance booth and a scale, so plan to stop and get weighed - many landfills charge tipping fees by weight and trucks often get weighed both in and out. Pull up to the booth first and follow the attendants’ directions; expect to be routed to a dumping area and then back to the scale. The site is mostly packed earth, piles of brush and fill, and heavy equipment working the cells, so trucks can get dusty and slightly rough to drive on. Weekends and spring cleanup times are busiest; lines can form and wait times go up.
