Canton Sanitary Landfill is the county landfill on Soldiers Colony Road where residents and local haulers bring household trash and commercial loads. It’s the place trash ends up being buried, used by people from Canton and nearby rural areas who don’t have curbside pickup.
Pull past an entrance booth and cross a scale - fees are assessed by weight, so there will be a weigh-in and usually a stop back on the way out. The tipping area is open and exposed, with large dirt cells and cover material visible nearby. Weekends, especially during seasonal cleanups, tend to be the busiest times and lines can form.
