(218) 385-3660County landfill on the edge of New York Mills that most locals use for large cleanouts and commercial loads. Big, open site with a clearly marked entrance road and a scale house near the gate. Often used by farmers, contractors and residents dropping off bulky items.
Drive up the access road and stop at the entrance booth/scale: the site charges tipping fees by weight so expect to be weighed in and out. The dumping area is a large, graded pad with heavy equipment working piles; watch for trucks and loaders. Recycling or drop-off bins tend to be clustered near the entrance or off to one side so they’re easy to find before heading to the active cell. In winter there can be fewer attendants on site and some places in Minnesota provide indoor drop-off options or alternate winter routing, so be ready for seasonal changes.
