Sauk Trail Hills Landfill on South Lilley Road in Canton is where residents and commercial haulers bring things that get buried. It’s a fairly large landfill with plenty of truck traffic and the high, worked-over mounds you expect at a big disposal site.
Drive in and pass a booth and a scale-tipping fees are charged by weight, so there’s usually a weigh-in before and/or after dumping. Vehicles queue at the entrance, then move to open dirt pads or cells to unload while heavy equipment works nearby. The site is dusty and busy; expect lots of dump trucks, loaders, and a few different drop-off spots spread out across the property. Weekends and spring cleanup times get the longest lines, so plan extra time if coming then.
