(888) 249-5112Republic Services Coldwater Transfer Station is the local transfer station on Treat Ave that people from Coldwater and nearby rural areas use when they don't want to drive out to a distant landfill. Trucks drop loads here to be compacted and hauled off-site, and residents come for household cleanouts, yard waste runs, or recycling drop-offs.
The yard is industrial - big pavement, roll-off containers and larger transfer trailers visible from the entrance. There’s typically a small attendant booth where vehicles stop first; after weighing, drivers are directed to a spot to unload and then pass the scale again on the way out. Expect to share the yard with commercial trucks, so watch for backing vehicles and have items ready to hand off or load. Because Michigan has a bottle/can deposit law, many people bring bottles and cans separately from mixed trash to simplify things.
