Merrill Township Transfer Station is the small transfer station used by Bitely-area residents, located at 9555 N Bingham Ave in Baldwin. It’s where local trash gets compacted and loaded onto trucks to be hauled to a landfill elsewhere, so it’s handy for quick drop-offs or cleanup hauls.
The site has a modest setup: a small entrance booth and a paved drive with places to pull up for weighing and unloading. Expect to drive up to the booth area first, then move into lanes for backing into a pit or bin to empty a pickup or trailer. Loads are compacted on site and then transported off-property, so the drop area can be open concrete with large containers or a compactor. Weekends and spring cleanup times often have lines, so plan a bit of extra time if coming then.
