Manistee County Landfill is the county landfill out on Camp Road, used by residents, landscapers and commercial haulers. It handles everything from small pickup loads to larger truck and trailer drops, so expect a mix of vehicles when driving in.
The site is fairly large and open - rolling cells and the active dumping area are visible from the access road. There's a scale at the entrance and tipping fees are assessed by weight, so most vehicles stop to be weighed in and weighed out. Pull into the entrance area, follow the drive toward the working face, and watch for slow-moving trucks and heavy equipment. Weekends and spring cleanup time usually have the longest lines, so delays are common then.
