Waste Management - Avon Recycling Center

40 Ledin Dr, Avon, MA 02322

(508) 586-5385

Small-town recycling center that's used by homeowners and landscapers from Avon and nearby towns. A practical spot for dropping off separated recyclables and bulky items that don't belong in curbside bins. Expect the place to feel functional rather than fancy-people bring trailers, bags, and a load of stuff and get it sorted.

Drive in and slow down for the entrance booth and the weigh scale a short distance beyond; vehicles often stop twice because loads are weighed on the way in and out. The recycling bins and containers sit to the right after the booth, with larger drop-off areas and covered bays a little further in. Signs will tell which streams to separate, and most people are unpacking by the edge of their vehicle, carrying items over to the correct bins. Weekends and spring cleanup days get busy, so there’s usually a short line of trucks and cars waiting to pull up to the scale.

Before You Go

  • Sort items at home into clear categories so unloading goes faster-paper, cardboard, metals, electronics, etc., as Massachusetts rules mean things often have to be separated.
  • Bring strong gloves and a dolly or straps for heavy bundles; some of the containers are a short carry from where cars park.
  • Avoid peak times like weekend mornings during spring; arriving midweek or later in the afternoon usually moves quicker.
