South Hadley Landfill is the town's municipal dump off Industrial Drive, used by local residents and businesses hauling larger loads. Trucks and pickup crews come here for regular trash disposal and commercial haulers drop off heavier loads as well.
Drive up the access road to a small entrance booth and follow signs to the scale; the site charges tipping fees by weight, so vehicles usually stop twice. There’s a noticeable mound of compacted material and active working faces where trucks unload; the area is dusty and gravelly in dry weather. Recycling and bulky-item areas are often grouped near the entrance, with the main landfill cells set back from the drop-off zones. Expect some lineups on weekends and during spring cleanup, with commercial trucks using a separate lane or area if the site is busy.
