Duxbury Transfer & Recycling Station

145 Mayflower St, Duxbury, MA 02332

(781) 934-0255

Duxbury Transfer & Recycling Station is the town recycling center on Mayflower Street used by residents looking to keep stuff out of the landfill. Neighbors drop off household recyclables and take part in the town’s recycling programs. The site is typical of Massachusetts centers, where separation of materials is expected under state rules.

Drive up to the entrance and slow down for the attendant booth and a scale; vehicles often stop there on both the way in and the way out. The recycling bins and compactors are clustered beyond the booth, so pull up, listen for directions, and back into the appropriate area to unload. Expect concrete pads, a few large open-top containers, and marked areas for cardboard, glass, metal and mixed paper-staff will usually point where to put things. Weekends and spring cleanup times can be busy, so there may be a short line to get in.

Before You Go

  • Sort materials at home: keep paper, cardboard, glass/metal/plastic separate to speed unloading and meet Massachusetts separation expectations.
  • Flatten cardboard and bundle it; loose boxes take up more room and slow things down for the next person.
  • Bring gloves and tie down any loose items in the truck bed; having everything ready to hand off reduces time spent on site.
