(978) 250-5203Chelmsford Recycling Waste is the local recycling center off Billerica Road that folks from town and nearby pull into when clearing out the garage or dropping off curb recyclables. Neighbors bring household bags, boxes, and oddball items that won't fit in the curb cart. It's mainly for recycling rather than trash, so expect material sorting and special drop-offs for things like electronics or bulky recyclables.
Drive up the short access road to the entrance area where there's an attendant booth and a scale-vehicles usually slow down to check in and then move toward the sorting bays. The site has large open bays and rows of bins for paper, cardboard, glass, metal and common plastics; there are often separate spots for electronics and other special program items. Staff will usually direct vehicles where to unload, and people tend to stack flattened boxes and separate mixed loads before leaving. Weekends and spring cleanup days get noticeably busy, so lines can form even though the site itself is just a few compact rows of containers and a concrete pad.
