Bourne Landfill sits on MacArthur Boulevard (Route 28) and is where town residents and local contractors bring bulk trash and construction-type loads. It’s a large, working landfill - not a tidy drop-off - and what’s accepted and how much it costs is set by state and town rules.
Drive up to a small entrance booth and there will likely be a scale nearby; many landfills charge tipping fees by weight, so expect to stop on the way in and again when leaving. The site is big: heavy equipment, piles of compacted fill and a working tipping area where trucks unload. Surfaces are often gravel and can get dusty or muddy depending on weather, and lines build up on weekends and during spring cleanup.
