Cape Elizabeth Transfer Site

21 Dennison Dr, Cape Elizabeth, ME 04107

(207) 799-0324

Cape Elizabeth Transfer Site is the town's transfer station on Dennison Drive where residents drop off household trash and recyclables before it's trucked out to a landfill. Neighbors from Cape Elizabeth and nearby pockets of town use it for smaller loads instead of driving to a distant landfill. It sits like a compact municipal lot rather than a big commercial facility.

Drive up a short access road and you’ll see a small entrance booth and areas for different types of drop-off; expect to pull up to the booth first. There’s usually a scale or weighing point for vehicles, so plan for a brief stop on the way out as well. The site is compact - fenced bays, a few large containers and a paved area to back up and unload. Weekend and spring-cleanup traffic can back up the entrance, and winter weather often makes the yard slushy or icy.

Before You Go

  • Bring materials sorted and stacked before getting to the booth so unloading goes quickly and safe placement is easier.
  • Leave a little extra time on Saturdays and during spring cleanup; lines can form and maneuvering becomes slow with more vehicles around.
  • In winter, use good traction on the vehicle and take it slow while backing up - the paved areas can be icy or covered in slush.
