(337) 734-4135Republic Services Jefferson Davis Landfill is the big municipal landfill just off Landfill Rd in Welsh, used by both pickup drivers clearing out household junk and larger commercial haulers. It's the kind of place people bring full trailers and construction debris rather than single bags of trash.
There’s a scale booth on the way in - loads are weighed, so expect to stop there and again on the way out. The site looks large and open with dirt and compacted trash areas stretching out; trucks queue up on busy days and the entrance has a clear pull-up area for inspection and weighing. Since this is a landfill in Louisiana, the site handles wet-weather conditions and you’ll notice mud or standing water after heavy rains, and extra gravel in places to keep access passable.
