Jeff David Landfill is the municipal landfill out past town that handles household and commercial trash for the Welsh area. Locals, landscapers, and haulers bring loads here to be buried - it's a working landfill with heavy equipment and open cells.
Drive up Landfill Road and you’ll see an entrance booth and a scale; vehicles stop at the booth and then cross the scale, because tipping fees are assessed by weight and there’s usually another weigh-out on the way out. The site is large with visible compactors and bulldozers moving material, and cells and dirt berms shape the working area. In wet weather things get muddy and access roads can be sloppy; hurricane season means the place runs wet-weather protocols more often than not. Commercial trucks are handled here alongside residential drop-offs, so expect traffic from larger haulers at times.
