East Baton Rouge Parish North Landfill is the city landfill out in Zachary - the final destination where trash gets buried. Folks drop off everything from household junk to contractor loads here. The place charges tipping fees by weight, and commercial loads are accepted (usually at higher rates than residential).
There's a small entrance booth and a drive-on scale so expect to stop to be weighed on the way in and again on the way out. Pull up to the booth, check in, then follow the lanes to the tipping area where trucks back up to dump; large dirt mounds and heavy equipment are visible around the site. Keep hold of any weigh tickets until the exit since the fee is calculated by weight. Weekends and spring-cleanup times get busy, so lines and slow-moving trucks are common.
