Renovating your home? Drywall, lumber, concrete, and roofing materials have different disposal rules than regular trash. Here's what to know.
Read more →Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Broadview Heights is a local recycling center where residents and small haulers drop off materials they want kept out of the landfill. It’s the kind of place people use when the curbside pickup won’t take something or when there’s a bigger load to get rid of.
Drive in on E Royalton Road and you’ll see an entrance booth and a scale as part of the traffic flow; vehicles usually pull up to the booth first and then move on to the drop-off areas. The site is industrial-looking: rows of large recycling containers and open bays for different materials, with the recycling bins often located just past the main entrance. Expect to stop at the scale both coming and going since weight is tracked for loads, and be prepared to sort or separate common items like cardboard, paper, metals, glass and certain plastics before unloading. Weekends, especially during spring cleanups, tend to be the busiest times with lines forming at the entrance.
Learn how to properly dispose of common items.
