Rumpke/Pendleton County Landfill sits on Bryan Griffin Road just outside Butler, Kentucky, and is where local trash and larger hauls get buried. Neighbors and commercial trucks both turn up here when garbage needs to be taken off the curb or out of a job site.
Drive in and there’s a roadside booth with a scale - landfills like this charge tipping fees by weight, so expect to stop to be weighed going in and again coming out. Beyond the booth the site opens into a large, gravel lot with dirt cells, piled refuse and heavy equipment moving around; visibility can be dusty on dry days. Trucks and pickups queue up at times, especially on weekends and during spring cleanup, so be prepared for a short wait. Recycling or special drop-off points are usually set to the side and the layout can be spread out, so follow the site flow once past the scale.
