Lewisport Hauling and Transfer Station

Small transfer station off US-60 West used by Lewisport residents hauling household junk, yard waste, and small loads from surrounding farms. The place compacts trash and sends it on to a landfill elsewhere, so it's handy when the nearest landfill is too far to drive to directly.

A low-key industrial lot with a drive-up entrance and an attendant booth near the road; bring a vehicle that can back up or pull in easily. Expect to unload onto a concrete pad or into a hopper area where machines compact material before it gets hauled away. Lines can form on weekends and during spring cleanup, so there may be a short wait at the booth before getting directed where to go. Signage is usually minimal, so follow attendants’ directions and watch how other trucks pull up if unsure.
