(270) 506-1062Hardin County Pearl Hollow Landfill is the county landfill just outside Elizabethtown, used by homeowners, haulers and local businesses hauling trash for burial. Drive is to 1620 Audubon Trce; it's the kind of place people bring full pickups, trailers and rolloffs when curbside won't cut it. Expect a working-site feel rather than anything tidy or pretty.
There’s a scale house near the entrance and vehicles are weighed, so the process involves driving in, stopping at the booth, dumping and then stopping again to be weighed out. The site is large and open with dirt and gravel surfaces, piles and heavy equipment moving around; big trucks and trailers are common. As a county landfill it handles larger loads in addition to residential drop-offs, and tipping fees are normally charged by weight with a residential minimum most places follow. Lines can form, especially on weekends or during seasonal cleanups, so be prepared to wait a bit.
