Central Kentucky Landfill is the big burial site for household and commercial trash around Sadieville and the Georgetown area. Truckers, contractors with trailers, and homeowners who need to dump a load end up here. It’s a working place with heavy equipment and open dirt roads - not a neat transfer station.
There’s an entrance booth and a scale close to the road; vehicles usually get weighed and then weighed again after dumping so the tipping fee is based on weight. After the scale drivers head toward the active dumping area, where dirt roads, compacted piles and bulldozers are common sights. Landfills like this typically charge tipping fees with different rates for commercial versus residential loads, so commercial haulers should be prepared for that. Lines build up on weekends and during spring cleanup, so expect a wait at busy times.
