Bavarian Trucking Company Landfill is the landfill out on McCoys Fork Road in Walton, used by residents cleaning out garages and by commercial haulers with bigger loads. It’s the place where loads get buried rather than recycled or hauled off elsewhere.
Drive up and stop at a gated entrance with a scale and a small booth; most landfills charge tipping fees by weight, so expect to be weighed. After the scale there’s usually a short staging lane before getting to the dumping area and the site looks like large dirt piles with heavy equipment moving around. Weekends and spring cleanup times can get backed up, and commercial trucks use the facility too, though fees and accepted materials vary by site and are overseen by state environmental authorities.
