(620) 626-3212Seward County Municipal Solid Waste Landfill in Liberal is the county landfill where most residential and commercial trash ends up. Locals and contractors both use it for disposals that won’t fit in curbside bins. It’s a large, working landfill on the north side of town at 515 N Washington Ave.
Drive in and follow the access road toward the working face and the scale/entry point; there’s a scale area for weighing loads and a booth near the entrance. Vehicles usually pull up, get weighed, proceed to the dumping area, then return to the scale for an out-weight. The site is open, dusty, and built up with berms and compacted cells rather than a paved parking lot; bring a sturdy truck or trailer and be ready to back up or maneuver on gravel. Tipping fees are handled by weight for most loads, with smaller residential drops often treated differently than larger commercial hauls.
