Marshall County Landfill

1548 Pheasant Rd, Marysville, KS 66508

Marshall County Landfill is the county landfill on Pheasant Road outside Marysville, used by residents and haulers from around the region. It’s the spot where trash is buried rather than recycled, so expect a working, no-frills operation. Rural towns and commercial trucks both use it, since Kansas landfills often take loads from multiple counties.

Drive up to a small entrance booth and be ready to stop at a scale; tipping fees are charged by weight and there’s typically a minimum charge for smaller residential loads. Pull in slowly - traffic moves on gravel or compacted dirt and trucks maneuvering in and out are common. There are large open cells and dirt berms rather than paved unloading pads, and recycling or special-item bins (if present) are usually off to the side of the main drop area. Weekends and spring cleanup times often mean a line, so allow extra time if dropping off then.

Before You Go

  • Cover and secure loose loads for the trip in; windblown debris is a hassle and may be harder to clean up at the tip.
  • Have an idea of how heavy the load might be - fees are by weight and drivers will need to get on the scale when directed.
  • Bring a sturdy truck or trailer and be prepared for uneven, dusty surfaces when backing into the drop area, especially after rain.
