Clark County Landfill

Clark County Landfill, 1850 Creek U, Ashland, 67831, Kansas

Clark County Landfill is the county dump on the west side of Ashland that handles household and larger loads from around Clark County. Farmers, contractors and residents hauling a truck or trailer use it when trash needs to be buried rather than recycled or picked up curbside.

The site looks like a working dirt operation - gravel drives, mounded piles of cover soil and big trucks coming and going. Landfills like this commonly have a scale by the entrance and charge tipping fees either by weight or per load, so a weigh-in and weigh-out is typical. Pull up to the entrance/scale, follow the traffic flow to the active disposal area and then unload where directed. Weekends and spring cleanup season can be busy and dusty, so allow a little extra time.

Before You Go

  • Secure and cover loads; loose trash can blow off on the drive and cause delays.
  • Wear work gloves and sturdy shoes - the ground is often gravel and can get muddy after rain.
  • If hauling commercially, expect different handling and fee rules than residential loads; plan for the extra stop to be weighed and settled.
