Cheyenne County Landfill sits out on Road 21 at 1450 Road 21 (St. Francis area) and is the place locals bring household trash and larger hauls. Farmers, local haulers and county residents are the usual traffic here. The site is a working landfill - where material gets buried rather than recycled on-site.
Expect a gravel drive in with an entrance station and a scale to weigh loads; tipping fees at landfills like this are generally charged by weight and there’s often a minimum for small residential loads. Pull up to the booth/scale to be weighed, then you’ll be directed to an open dumping cell or working face where trucks tip. The yard is basic - dirt roads, compacted berms and piles of cover material - and larger trucks and trailers are common. Weekends and spring cleanup times can get backed up, so lines and waiting are possible.
