County landfill out on SW 40th that folks from El Dorado and nearby towns use for household cleanouts and contractor hauls. It’s the final place trash gets buried, not a drop-off recycling center or transfer station. Trucks, pickups and roll-offs all show up here on a regular basis.
Drive in to a small entrance booth where loads are recorded and tipping fees are handled, then usually cross a scale before being sent to the active dumping area. The site is mostly gravel and dirt with big berms and compacted piles; expect truck traffic, dust and a bulldozer or two working the face. Vehicles often have to back up to the drop point or walk loads a short distance, then return over the scale so the load can be logged before leaving. Commercial haulers are common, so there’s typically a steady flow and some lines at busy times.
