Wayne-Ringgold-Decatur County Sanitary Landfill is the county landfill out on 125th Avenue by Grand River, used by homeowners, local haulers and businesses to bury final-disposal trash. It’s a full-scale sanitary landfill - not a drop-off recycling center - so come prepared for a working site and truck traffic. The place handles regular residential runs as well as larger commercial loads that are charged differently than household drop-offs.
Drive up to a small entrance booth and then over a scale; tipping fees are typically calculated by weight at county landfills, so expect to be weighed and billed accordingly. After weighing, most drivers proceed to the active dumping area - dirt roads, compacted mounds and heavy equipment are the norm. Vehicles often queue on busier days, especially for oversized or commercial loads. Look for clear paths to the working face and wear something you don’t mind getting dusty.
