Metro Park East Landfill is the big burial spot out on University Avenue NE in Mitchellville for household cleanouts and contractor loads. Locals haul everything here when curbside won’t take it or for bigger jobs. It’s a working landfill - large, dusty, and not exactly picturesque.

After the scale, follow the traffic flow to the active dumping area where heavy equipment moves material and covers it. The site is mostly dirt roads, piled waste, and machinery, so drive slowly and keep loads covered. Weekends and spring cleanup times commonly have longer lines and slower traffic through the gate.
