Transfer Station

Guthrie County Transfer Sta

2349 Jaguar Trail, Guthrie Center, IA 50115

(641) 747-3764

Small, practical transfer station just off Jaguar Trail that sees a mix of residents and farmers from around Guthrie Center. Trucks compact loads here and then haul them out to a landfill elsewhere, so it’s often easier than driving all the way to a distant dump. Expect the place to get busier during harvest and spring cleanup seasons.

Drive up to a single entrance with a small booth or scale area where vehicles pause before heading to the drop-off pits. The site is mostly open concrete slabs and large receptacles, with compactors and transfer trucks visible around the edges. Vehicles pull up to the appropriate pit or container, tip or unload, then usually stop back at the scale/booth on the way out. Lines can form on weekends and during seasonal peaks, so plan for a short wait.

Before You Go

  • Bring a way to cover loose loads - wind can scatter things on the drive in and out.
  • Sort heavier items from lighter ones in the truck to speed unloading and reduce handling time.
  • Avoid the busiest times if possible: weekends and early morning/late afternoon during planting/harvest tend to be crowded.
