Fremont County Sanitary Landfill is the county dump out on 250th Street just outside Sidney. Locals - homeowners and commercial haulers alike - use it as the final place to bury trash. It’s a no-frills county landfill, sized to handle pickups up to semi loads.
Pull onto a gravel entrance and there’s a small scale and weigh booth area where trucks stop before heading in; tipping fees are weight-based so expect to be weighed. The site is mostly dirt roads and working cells with piles of compacted material, so it can be dusty in summer and muddy after rain. After weighing in, drivers move to the unloading area and then back over the scale to record outweight. Recycling or drop-off containers, when available, are typically near the entrance rather than out at the active face.
