Drive up the gravel entrance to a manned booth and be prepared to pull forward to a scale - most sites charge by weight, so there's usually a weigh-in and weigh-out. The lot is open with a few large concrete pads and roll-off bins; recycling or bulky-item bins are typically off to one side. Bring a short wait into the plan on weekend mornings and during spring when everyone is doing clean-up.

- Secure tarps and straps before arriving so loose debris doesn't blow off while driving through town.
- Pull up slowly to the booth/scale and have the truck/trailer positioned to back into the unloading area without blocking incoming traffic.
- Wear work boots and clothes that can get dirty; the unloading spots are gravel and can be muddy after rain.
