(765) 423-2858Tippecanoe County Solid Waste District on N 9th Street is the county-run spot locals use for household trash, recycling and yard debris. Neighbors drop off everything from bagged garbage to curbside-style recyclables. People from Lafayette and surrounding areas swing by when clearing out a garage or getting rid of lawn clippings.
Drive up to the entrance area where there’s a booth and places to pull up to unload; traffic flow is vehicle-oriented so plan to back into a drop-off lane if hauling a trailer. Recycling bins and yard waste piles tend to be grouped to the right of the main drive, with larger dumpsters or compactors set back toward the center of the site. Weekends, especially spring cleanup weekends, often have lines and limited maneuvering room; weekday mid-mornings are usually less busy. The site is industrial-looking - gravel or paved drives, metal buildings and concrete pads - so bring gloves and have materials sorted as much as possible before getting out of the car.
