Newton County Landfill is the county landfill serving the Buna/Deweyville area - the place where trash finally gets buried. Locals, contractors and small haulers use it for larger loads that won't fit in curbside pickup.
Pull in off County Road 3870 toward the scalehouse/entrance booth near the site entrance; larger trucks usually queue to be weighed. There’s a scale, so loads are handled on a weight or load-based tipping-fee system rather than flat curbside rates. The site looks like a typical rural landfill - open cells, heavy equipment working the piles, and a drive-up area to drop materials. Expect to stop, get directed where to unload, then return to the scale to complete the transaction.
