Evansville Solid Waste Management

1 NW Martin L King Jr Bl # 327, Evansville, IN 47708

(812) 436-7800

Evansville Solid Waste Management is the city’s general drop-off for household trash, recycling and yard debris - the kind of place residents pull into when cleaning out a garage or doing yard work. Neighbors, contractors and anyone with a truck or trailer use it; it’s not a small curbside bin, it’s a working transfer/collection site in Evansville.

Drive up to an entrance area with a booth and a lane for vehicles; plan to stop there and get directed where to pull up. The site is open and industrial-looking with concrete pads, big roll-off containers and areas for different types of material, so there’s a bit of walking or backing up involved. A scale isn’t uncommon at facilities like this, and traffic can back up on weekend mornings or during spring cleanup. Recyclables and yard waste are usually grouped off to the side, so keep an eye out for signs and the cluster of bins as you pull through.

Before You Go

  • Have loads secure and easy to unload: tarps, straps and a helper make tipping or sorting much quicker.
  • Go early on weekdays if possible - weekends and spring cleanups are when lines form and waits get long.
  • Separate recyclables and loose yard waste before getting in line so dumping goes fast and doesn’t require extra sorting at the vehicle.
