Small, no-frills transfer station just off Old State Road 37 that Bloomington residents use when hauling household trash or a pickup load too big for curb pickup. Trucks and cars pull in, drop their load into a compactor/holding area, and the material gets loaded onto larger haulers to go out of county.
Drive up to a manned entrance booth and show ID or proof of residency if required; most vehicles will have to stop briefly to be directed where to pull up. There’s a drive lane past the booth where vehicles pull up to unload into large bays or a compactor; it’s loud and dusty when trucks are running. Expect the site to look industrial - concrete pads, big metal containers, and heavy equipment - and to wait in line at busier times like weekend mornings or spring cleanup.
